Brazil Will Start to Manage Documents for Freight Import and Export Electronically in 2020
12/12/2019
SISICOMEX will start to manage documents for freight import and export electronically through its new Controle de Carga e Trânsito (CCT) app.
With the aim of optimizing freight import and export operations in the country, Receita Federal Brasileña has harnessed the Foreign Trade Integrated System to create the Controle de Carga e Trânsito (CCT)app, whereby logistics providers can file the different documents required electronically.
This is a big step forward for all foreign trade stakeholders in Brazil since to date import/export declarations could only be done manually using the MANTRA app, which will now be replaced by Controle de Carga e Trânsito.
The EDI format chosen by CCT is IATA CARGO XML 2.0. The messages that must be transmitted are:
XFFM – Flight Manifest: Manifest to notify details of air freight shipments. Multi-airport option, transmitting the manifest from all points of origin before entering the national territory and then from all points of destination within it. The manifest contains all the air waybills on the freight carried on the flight.
XFWB – House Air Waybill:To report information on each air waybill declared in the flight manifest.
XFZB – Freight Waybill: To transmit a complete House Waybill (XFWB) set.
XFHL – House Manifest: to report the details of all the data in each House Air Waybill listed in the House Air Waybills Manifest.
Centralizing communications in a single platform and unifying the format to transmit messages will streamline implementation for enterprises and government alike. Receita Federal Brasileña plans to launch the pilot project in January, bringing together all the actors involved to test and define an initial framework before making the declaration of these electronic messages over the CCT compulsory.
Companies operating in Brazil must gear their systems up to be able to transmit messages before the obligation takes effect.
EDICOM is a global partner of the IATA association.EDICOM has extensive experience in the logistics and air transport industry. The EDICOMAir platform powers the electronic exchange of logistics messages between airlines, freight brokers and other logistics operators with bonded warehouses, air freight carriers and Customs under the e-AWB model.
The entire process is performed instantly and securely, integrating messages with each company's internal management system to streamline acceptance and management tasks.
