To overcome some limitations of “Facturae” version 3.2, adapt it to certain new developments in the taxation scope and, most of all, prepare it for more intensive use with the entry in force of Law 25/2013 of 27 December, this new version has been drafted, designated 3.2.1. This version has the feature of being back-compatible with version 3.2, in other words, an invoice drawn up according to version 3.2 will be interpreted correctly by a program running version 3.2.1. The opposite, however, is not true in all cases. Nevertheless, it is necessary for public administrations, especially those that choose to develop their own points of entry for invoices, to adapt their systems to the changes proposed in the new Facturae version. Otherwise, suppliers that decide to issue their invoices in 3.2.1 format will not be able to submit them to the administrations with reception guaranteed.
The new version includes slight modifications, mainly designed to upgrade the data schema to the new developments taking place in the taxation area, and especially to prepare it for more intensive use once Law 25/2013, of 27 December comes into force.
In greater detail, it specifically involves including 4 changes compared to the 3.2 format:
Allowing numbers of up to 8 decimals instead of a fixed set of six decimal points in some amounts.
Changing the restriction in one data type to make it mandatory to specify 2 decimal points in some amounts.
Extending the coding list of taxes with five new elements.
Introduction of new legal references in the fill-in instructions.
EDICOM’s Facturae platform is fully adapted to the version changes in the new Facturae 3.2.1 format.
