Electronic Receipts portal: Generating invoices delegated to the final consumer
EDICOM has developed a new project in Mexico where the end consumers of the products at points of sale can access an online EDI Web portal to generate the invoice for their purchases themselves using a simple data entry form.
This is a revolution in the use of EDI technology, which is now accessible to the end user in a fully transparent way, while bringing significant savings in management costs and administrative time for the company distributing the products.
EDICOM Receipts Portal
Taking advantage of theEDICOM Web Portalsolution’s versatility is the response to an important problem suffered by retail distribution operators in Mexico in terms of significant losses of time and sales. Due to the country's tax system, more and more shoppers are asking for an invoice, which inevitably affects customer waiting times, as the details of each client requesting one have to be captured manually.
The Receipts Portal provides the solution to this point-of-sale management issue, furnishing the buyer with convenient online tools so that they can create, download and print the invoice out if they wish in PDF format, with the corresponding digital tax receipt integrated in the PDF.
This type of technology platform already has important success stories such as Mexico City International Airport (AICM), which uses the Receipt Portal to provide the receipt generation service for customers using the airport's parking service.
Easy and intuitive receipt generation process
The end customer makes their purchase at the point-of-sale and is given a purchase receipt which includes an invoice code.
The purchase details are sent automatically to the distributor client's EDI solution and a pre-invoice is generated.
Via Internet, the customer accesses the online Receipt Portal (whose URL is shown on the purchase receipt).
May enter the invoice code shown on their purchase receipt and a data entry form opens up automatically with the details corresponding to the pre-invoice uploaded.
The customer enters their tax details and a solution automatically creates the electronic invoice with all legal requirements stipulated by the SAT in a way totally transparent to the user.
The solution forwards the invoice by e-mail to the customer in PDF format with the tax receipt embedded in an XML.
The Receipt Portal provides significant competitive advantages
