In 2015, e-invoicing is spreading throughout Latin America, with new fiscal policies designed to generalize its use. One of the countries taking part in this technological leap is Peru. According to the National Superintendency of Tax Administration (SUNAT), by the end of this year more than 107 million electronic invoices and receipts will be in circulation in the country.
Back in 2013, Resolution Nº 374-2013 summoned a group of 239 large companies in Peru to join the Electronic Issuing System (SEE) by 1 October. Since then, there have been two extensions, so the deadline for these companies to join the new regime is now 1 August.
In addition, SUNAT published a second list last September which required 778 businesses to adopt this system by 1 July this year. By then, there will be over 1000 new taxpayers issuing e-invoices in 2015. They will be joined by those taxpayers joining the SEE voluntarily. For now, SUNAT proposes that e-invoicing should be implemented 100% by 2017.
To integrate this technology in businesses, there are several options. On one hand, EDICOM has developed a low-cost, quick start-up web solution, which lets you enter the invoice date manually through a web portal. On the other, the integrated solution is designed for companies generating high billing volumes. The platform is integrated with the ERP, extracting the data and carrying out the creation, sending and storage process automatically.
With rollout of the Electronic Payment Receipt (CPE), benefits for taxpayers are estimated to reach savings on resources of up to 60%. Bear in mind that this method not only cuts the document costs arising from transport, printing and storage, but also reduces the time spent on management. In addition, the spread of e-invoicing will encourage businesses to also adopt the digital format for other tax documents, for example pay slips.
EDICOM, accredited by Indecopi
The National Institute for the Defence of Competition and Protection of Intellectual Property (Indecopi) has acknowledged EDICOM as Digital Certification Services Provider. This accreditation means that EDICOM does not depend on third parties at any stage of the e-invoicing process.
