EDICOM presents Aeroméxico success story at E-Cargo Conference & Workshop
Next Tuesday, June 2, the e-Cargo & Technology Conference kicks off in Geneva, an event organized by IATA and sponsored by EDICOM to discuss the main technological trends in optimizing processes associated with airfreight operations. Special attention will also be given to the new XML-Cargo standard and the potential it offers industry professionals in the electronic exchange of airfreight messages.
On the second day of the event, EDICOM expert André Menezes, along with Aeroméxico, will be explaining how they managed to implement an XML-Cargo solution in the airline with no need to replace the current Cargo-IMP system. This standard, also developed by the IATA, is not as interoperable as XML, more easily assimilated by other air transport-related entities such as customs. So, the sector is gravitating towards this new more flexible and adaptable schema.
In the case of Aeromexico, migration to this technology took place transparently thanks to the EDICOMAir platform. This solution has powerful translation modules that convert the message into the XML-Cargo standard, regardless of the language it was initially in. This is why there is no need to replace the current system, as the two can coexist smoothly.
The EDICOMAir solution is integrated with the EDICOM platform's legal module, so it is possible to set up communications and integrations with Public Administrations for the submission of air waybills. In addition, it can issue electronic invoicing in line with the legal requirements in place in every country in the world.
The AeroMéxico success story will be presented on June 3 from 14:05. Afterwards, there will be a round table on how to undertake the migration to XML-Cargo, in which EDICOM Customer Services Manager André Menezes is also taking part.
The event will be held at the IATA Conference Centre in Geneva. For the full schedule and other relevant Conference details, you can check out the IATA website or download the program.
