The EDICOMNet value added network processes 400 million transactions each year, making it one of the major VANs (Value Added Networks) in the international scope. Through this private network, more than 14,000 trading partners from all over the world exchange different types of business documents with other companies securely and smoothly.
The platform developed by EDICOM operates as a synchronous communications infrastructure, available 24 hours a day and constantly monitored. With it, partners have the opportunity to deliver their messages in special confidentiality conditions, while also having full control over their status. And EDICOMNet sets up traceability records in each transaction.
Unlike other VANs, EDICOMNet is a multi-protocol network. It allows us to set up communications through different channels, such as web services, https, ftp, x400 or AS2, among others. In addition, it is a multi-standard platform, which can route all messages according to the schema required by each trading partner at any given time. For example, EDIFACT, X12, XML, Facturae, VDA, ODETTE, TRADACOMS or XBRL, etc.
Adopting this VAN means faster transmission of information, thanks to data clustering and compression processes. We should also note that it enables us to prioritize messages, so that users can set up preferences for delivery or shipping by transaction type.
An interoperable network
EDICOMNet’s broad scope has made it one of the best interconnected networks worldwide. Several of the big VANs have already requested interconnection agreements to ensure interoperability. In addition, Edicom seeks new alliances to always ensure the connection of network users with customers, suppliers, government agencies or other partners. These gateway agreements are only signed with those VANs that provide secure data exchange, in accordance with the requirements of our Information Security Management System, based on the ISO27001 standard.
