EDICOM launches its GS1 approved electronic data catalogue
EDICOM, the international EDI solution and e-invoice provider, has launched the EdicomData service, specifically designed to synchronise product data between suppliers and distributors.
Edicomata has passed GS1 international interoperability tests, and operates as a data pool connected to the Global Data Synchronization Network (GDSN). This simplifies transactions, enabling users to synchronise their product database with those of any partners logged on to any GS1 certified electronic catalogue.
What is the Global Data Synchronization Network?
Any commercial relationship is based on the ongoing exchange of information on products and services to be bought and sold. This information is mostly stored in a company's computer system in the form of a database, with specific fields for price, measurements, colour, sell-by date, etc.
This is why flexible and efficient systems are essential to enable suppliers and distributors to update their product information libraries, and this requires an information processing system that allows the sender’s and receiver’s databases to be synchronised and updated.
The Global Data Synchronization Network meets all these requirements by establishing data pools, or globally networked electronic data catalogues.
This has prompted EDICOM to develop EdicomData, a GS1 approved electronic data catalogue that allows trading partners connected to any GDSN network Data Pool to synchronise their product data sheets.
In addition, EDICOM's electronic data catalogue includes a number of special features that highlight the scalability of our solution, which is designed to be implemented with different environments.
The integrated environment allows data updating and uploading processes to be automated in internal management systems via flexible, direct and secure connections between the client’s ERP system and the EdicomData electronic data catalogue.
Users have direct access to a portal where they can upload information on their products using simple data entry screens designed according to GS1 requirements.
Advantages for companies using EdicomData:
